  Introduction

The MCCP CTP is the ideal beginners program for those who want to pursue a career in the commodity derivatives market. The course is designed to provide the necessary inputs required to get the participants well versed with the modalities of the commodities markets in India such as the scope of commodities markets, regulatory framework, trading, clearing & settlement, delivery procedures, legal & investment issue.

Participants will be provided the ‘MCX Certified Commodity Professional’ certification on successfully clearing the online objective test with a minimum of 50%. The test can be taken at any one of the approved test centres of the Exchange. It consists of a total of 50 questions, which need to be answered within a span of 90 minutes. The reference material for the test is provided to the participants at the time of registration. All questions carry equal marks. However there is negative marking for questions answered incorrectly. The certification is valid for a period of 3 years from the date of issue.

i. 90% and above GRADE 'A+'
ii. 80% to less than 90% GRADE 'A'
iii. 70% to less than 80% GRADE 'B+'
iv. 60% to less than 70% GRADE 'B'
v. 50% to less than 60% GRADE 'C'
vi. Below 50% FAIL

Participants are required to keep themselves updated about the recent developments on the Exchange and in the commodities markets.

   
  Terms and Conditions

Fees for the certification course will be Rs.1500/- plus service tax for Online Test and Rs.4,000/- plus service tax, which will be inclusive of the coaching class, test fees, cost of reference material and certification . Fees once paid will not be refunded. Participants need to appear for the online test within 6 months of registration. In case the participant does not appear for the online test within 6 months of registration or wants to reappear for the test for the sake of increasing his/ her grades, he/ she can do so by paying an additional fee of Rs.500/- only. In case of participants reappearing for the test, no additional reference material will be provided The certificate will be issued within 15 days from the date of the test and will be couriered to the address given in the registration form.

   
  How to Register

Participants need to send the completely filled registration form, two colored passport size photographs along with a Demand Draft of Rs.1500/- (Thousand Five Hundred only) plus service tax for Online Test and  Rs.4000/- (Four Thousand only) plus service tax for classroom training program inclusive of online test  drawn in favor of ‘Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd’ payable at Mumbai, to the below mentioned address:

  Rules and regulations for the test
  • Participants have to apply for a test time at the designated Test Centre at least seven days in advance
  • Participants are requested to be present at the Test Centre at least 30 minutes prior to the test

  • Participants are required to carry their Admit Card, along with an alternate photo identity proof at the time of test
  • Use of mobile phones is not allowed during the test
  • In case a participant is found using any unfair means during the test, he/she will be expelled. The decision of the MCX official will be final and binding
  • The test consists of 50 objective questions and has to be completed within 90 minutes
  • All questions carry equal marks, the structure of which is as follows
    • Two marks will be awarded to every right answer
    • Half a mark will be deducted for every wrong answer
    • No marks will be awarded for questions not attempted
